Like most children of the 1970s, I started disco dancing when I was a teenager. And since one's ability to dance was often linked with one's ability to pick up girls, learning to dance and dancing well was a high priority in my teenage years.
Today, I continue to disco dance, but I have added several other
dances to my repertoire. When I moved to Austin, Texas in
1997, I attended a dance studio for a few months. I learned how
to:
- Two step
- Jitterbug
- East Coast Swing
- West Coast Swing & Whip
- Salsa
- Polka
- Country & Western Waltz
Lately, I have been working more on Two step and West Coast Swing. I am fairly satisfied with my ability to Jitterbug and East Coast Swing. I am also fairly comfortable with Salsa. However, West Coast Swing is a bit of a challenge, and so is Two step.
Check out my website, called Dance Austin, which is devoted to my new-found interest in dance. Take a look by clicking on the image below. |
